Tips On Buying A Professional Photo Printer

A professional photo printer is a desired product for individuals looking to print ultra-professional looking documents as well as high quality photographs.  Professional inkjet printers can be used to replicate digital images precisely as they are represented on the computer display screen.  From the fastidious business professional to the artistically-oriented photographer, anyone looking to get a superior printed product out of every printing project will want to give professional printers serious consideration.

When looking for a printer that is suitable for printing photographs, you have a choice of two chief printers, one that works with ink jet cartridges and one that works with dye sublimation processes.  The latter printer uses special dyes which are placed upon the surface of photograph paper: these dyes soak into the paper and create your photographic image with impressive quality.  Inkjet photo printers apply the image to the paper directly by printing each dot or pixel of the image.

Check out some of the most recent professional photo printer reviews and see what positive features and capabilities are associated with various printers.  You will see that professional printers are crafted with one of a kind, state of the art technologies.  Such printers can sometimes print as many as 4800 dpi x 1200 dpi with each printing and they can be hooked up to a home network through an Ethernet connection or via wireless connectivity options.  The color gradients are vast with a professional printer, and the hue and saturation of images is unrivalled by printers offering lower print resolutions.

Photographers looking to capture the realism of photos require a professional printer with a rich color palette.  Digital photo printers allow for an immediate assessment of how a proof looks, and it saves on film development costs too.  Of course, a nice feature integrated into some of the digital photo printers today is the fact that you can choose from a matte or a high gloss finish on images as well so you are given some artistic flexibility during your printing projects.  These kinds of printers sometimes allow you to generate a photo index too which makes proofing your images easier than ever before.

When you want to compare photo printers, you should assess the media you will be able to work with; what sizes can the printer handle and can you create gallery sized images, panoramic pictures, or even small pictures of high quality for passports and the like?  Check to see if the professional printer is capable of printing on a variety of different style papers too; you do not want a printer’s limitations to hinder your creative vision.

I agree, if you need a professional printer for you work then you are going to need to spend a reasonable amount of money, however if you find the right printer, it is money well spent.

I have found that if you want to get a truly professional photo printer you need to be prepared to pay for it. I have tried some of the cheaper varieties and they just don't cut the mustard.
